Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These terms apply to Shopify design, SEO and related services provided by PromoStrats ("I", "me") to you (the "client"). By engaging me for work, you agree to them. Specific projects may also have their own written quote or proposal, which takes precedence where it differs from these general terms.
Scope of work
Before any paid work begins, I'll set out what's included, the price, and rough timescales in writing. Work outside that agreed scope may be quoted separately. I don't start chargeable work until the scope and price are confirmed by you.
Quotes & pricing
Prices are quoted clearly before work starts and are valid for the period stated in the quote. Unless stated otherwise, quotes exclude third-party costs such as apps, themes, fonts, or hosting, which are your responsibility.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your quote or invoice. Larger projects may require a deposit before work begins, with the balance due on completion. Invoices are payable by the date shown on the invoice.
Client responsibilities
To deliver the work, I'll need timely access to your website and any relevant accounts, plus content, images, and feedback when requested. Delays in providing these may affect timelines. You confirm you have the right to use any materials you supply to me.
Revisions & approval
Each project includes a reasonable number of revisions as described in your quote. Once work is approved or published, further changes may be treated as new work and quoted accordingly.
Intellectual property
On full payment, ownership of the final deliverables created specifically for you transfers to you. Third-party components (themes, apps, fonts, plugins) remain subject to their own licences. I may reference the finished work in my portfolio unless you ask me in writing not to.
Liability
I take care to do good work, but I can't guarantee specific commercial outcomes such as particular search rankings, traffic levels, or sales, as these depend on factors outside my control. To the extent permitted by law, my liability for any project is limited to the fees you paid for that project.
Cancellation
Either of us may end an engagement in writing. If you cancel part-way through, you're responsible for payment for work completed up to that point.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Note: this is a starting template, not legal advice. Adjust it to match how you actually work — and have it reviewed by someone qualified — before relying on it.
